Artist Talk: Barbara Prenka
Barbara Prenka is one of the participating artists in the exhibition Make me coffee make me a sandwich, with the work Bodies as Steps. You will be able to understand more about the concept of her work for this exhibition during the talk, as well as about her artistic practice in general
Barbara Prenka (Gjakova, Kosovo, 1990) graduated with Professor Carlo Di Raco at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, lives and works between Venice and Bolzano.
She is interested in the spontaneity of the gesture, the freshness, the dirt that runs through the pictorial progression, painting as a process, as a succession of unexpected events and rediscoveries, the making and undoing that defines the subject. Physicality is the starting point of her work, the starting idea of a work the process of frantic and passive realization, physicality as a body that moves, creates, destroys, does not act on the pictorial material.
