DESCRIPTION:INVITATION\n\nPËRTEJ – Archiving Transition\nOpen for public: 23.07-30.10.2022\nReception: 24.07.2022/ 18:00h\n\nWe are delighted to invite you all to our next exhibition taking place at Galeria 17 and Grand Hotel. On Sunday\, July 24 we are gathering at Project Space 17 to celebrate the opening of our third exhibition\, which is part of Manifesta 14 program.\nArchiving transition\, is one of the four themes that Galeria 17 addresses in its annual program\, through art exhibitions and education program.\nArchiving transition refers to special and dedicated projects\, which have been swallowed up by the dynamics of the prolonged transition in our country\, making it impossible for us to stop and deepen in these common cultural stories. The missing chapters of our socio-cultural journey\, have left the stories of our cultural history in half. In this way\, today we lack data\, stories\, that connect and justify the developments of our society and consequently the developments of the art and culture scene in our country. Therefore\, the return to the exhibition “PËRTEJ” organized 25 years ago\, is not accidental\, on the contrary\, it is necessary to reconnect the inherited stories\, those that we are living and those that will be made. To re-establish and re-build communication between generations of artists\, art connoisseurs and art lovers. Furthermore\, to know ourselves\, to appreciate our stories and our cultural history.\nThus\, shedding light on local experiences\, Galeria 17 seeks to serve as a response to the many missing chapters of the country’s cultural history\, the desire to improve it and the aim to expand its activity beyond the place where it operates through cultural and education activities. Therefore\, bringing this exhibition to the premises of Galeria 17 with archival materials\, interviews 25 years later\, with the participants of the exhibition in the premises of the Grand Hotel\, as well as organizing a panel discussion at Project Space 17\, aims to stimulate public debate but also to reflect\, document and create missing references throughout a process that archives and educates.\n\nParticipants of the exhibition PËRTEJ – Archiving Transition\nShkëlzen Maliqi\nMaksut Vezgishi\nMehmet Behluli\nIlir Bajri\n\n——————-\nThis project is implemented by Foundation 17 (Shtatëmbëdhjetë) as part of the action “Strengthening Inclusive Victims’ Voices” implemented by Integra\, NSI\, PAX\, and funded by the EU. DESCRIPTION:𝗣𝗘̈𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗝 – 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻\n\n22/07/2022 – 30/10/2022\n\n𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘯 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯\,\n𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘙𝘢𝘪𝘯\,\n𝘈𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘰 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯’𝘥\n𝘈𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦\, 𝘔𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘶𝘨 𝘶𝘱 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯.\n\nTrying to imagine the opening day of the Përtej exhibition in Belgrade in a year such as 1997\, we will be able to distinguish from the courtyard\, the experimental music that penetrates through the premises of the Center for Cultural Decontamination\, with sounds that are as surreal as the time that we are recalling. Then these lines from Omar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat emerge in an obsessive and at the same time indistinct manner in the acoustic landscape created by Ilir Bajri and become\, as he himself says\, “a metaphor for the ’90s in Kosovo\, where we were slowly dying every day.”\nIn fact\, the works of the four artists not only represent the time and the historical situation of Kosovo in real time and even preceding it\, but also mark a dividing point where the traditional forms of art up to that time are exceeded.\nThe works in the exhibition consist of the foreboding and anxiety of the decade materialized through contemporary artistic mediums.
