SUMMARY:Babylonian vision - الرؤية البابلية
DESCRIPTION:BABYLONIAN VISION – الرؤية البابلية\nBy: Nora Al-Badri\n\n22/03/2022 – 22/06/2022\nOpening: 22/03/2022\, 19:00h\nAdress: Str.Henrik Bariç\, no.10\, Prishtinë\, 10000\, Republic of Kosovo\n\nAl-Badri expands on speculative archaeology and decolonial as well as machine learning based museum practices by generating technoheritage. A pre-trained neural network based on GAN technology (General Adversarial Networks) was trained with 10.000k images from 5 different museum collections with the largest collections of Mesopotamian\, Neo-Sumerian and Assyrian artefacts. The images were in the majority collected through web crawling and scraping and without the institution’s approval (even though she asked each museum beforehand) and just two through their open API. Subsequently new synthetic images evolve as a living memory of the images. The generated image is at the same time the artefact itself. Yet\, materiality is very important\, since the input images are images of material objects of our past. If MI is seen as a technology performing and processing our collective memory it makes sense to apply it to our big cultural data of the past and to generate new images as traces and circulating image worlds. Applying MI to cultural big data supplies other\, more speculative and abstract insights on the search for a visual language\, form and pattern of an era within a specific spatial context: Babylonian. The input images of these databases carry time and memory themselves (patina\, broken pieces\, most of them mid- to low-res). Subsequently new synthetic images evolve as a living memory of the images. The generated image is at the same time the artefact itself.\n\nWith texts written by:\nProf. Wendy M. K. Shaw\, Dr. Fazil Moradi\, Dr. Saud Al-Zaid\, Daphne Dragona\, Dr. Anita Hosseini\n\n*𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢 17\, 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘦. Physicality is the starting point of her work\, the starting idea of a work the process of frantic and passive realization\, physicality as a body that moves\, creates\, destroys\, does not act on the pictorial material.\nIn 2021 participated in the solo exhibition Shelter Lines curated by Edoardo Monti at Palazzo Monti – in the art residency at Palazzo Monti Brescia\, curated by Edoardo Monti. In 2020 Whatever It Takes at A plus A gallery curated by Curatorial School Venice – participated in Pesi Massimi at Spazio Punch curated by Augusto Maurandi. Renovation at the Marina Bastianello Gallery. In 2019 participates in the collective Margine curated by Raffaelle Santillo and Daniele Capra in Pordenone – at the artistic residency Bocsart Cosenza\, curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio group exhibition Etna & Paricutin\, Centro Cultural Antiguo Colegio Jesuita\, Fabrica de San Pedro Uruapan Mexico – Il disegno Politico Italiano\, curated by Aurora Fonda and Sandro Pignotti\, at A plus A gallery Venice. – Figolammerda ep. 2\, curated by Pier Paolo Scelsi and Valentina Gioia Levy\, at Giudecca Art District\, Venice. You will be able to understand more about the concept of her work for this exhibition during the talk\, as well as about her artistic practice in general.\nAzize Ferizi (1996) works and lives in Geneva where she’s completing her master degree at the HEAD fine arts-Geneva. Ferizi grew up between Switzerland and Kosovo\, where her parents originated from.\nThrough my pictorial practice\, I paint mainly women in domestic spaces. I recreate real or fictional scenes inspired by my daily life. My patterns are constructed from images taken from both my personal experience and the popular culture that surrounds me. Often disproportionate\, the women I paint take on the status of titans or heroines. They are giants.\nShe showed her work in a Solo Show SIS IS HARDCORE\, Cherish\, Geneva (2020)\, and in group shows as Nour El Ain\, Karma International\, Zürich (2021)\, Weaving Home\, Limbo\, Geneva (2020) and Nouveaux Sacrés\, Voiture 14\, Marseille (2019). SUMMARY:Opening of Galeria 17
DESCRIPTION:Opening of Galeria 17\n\n\n\nMake me coffee make me a sandwich\n\n\n\nCurated by: Natalija Vujošević\n\n\nArtists: Eljesa Beka\, Azize Ferizi\, Laureta Hajrullahu\, Lori Lako\, Milica Mijajlović\, Barbara Prenka\n\n\n\nThe first exhibition is part of one of the four themes of Galeria 17\, Scanning the Region\, this time under the curatorial concept of artist and curator Natalija Vujošević.\nSix artists have been invited to reflect on existing links within a community that is seeking to centre the need for collective action and space as a field of co-production of knowledge\, and living practices. This kind of artistic activity presents methodologies and tools to exercise the health of our communal energy\, the relationship and position between friends\, rhythms\, bodies\, relatives\, colleagues\, and lovers\, in this common space.\nThe artworks will unfold as a process which marks its time. Throughout the programme\, art lovers will discover new works\, stories\, sounds\, spices and community rituals\, which will take place in Galeria 17 and spread to the neighborhood. The exhibition will be developmental\, marking the opening of each of its chapters.\n\n\n\n©Atdhe Mulla\n\n\n\n——–\nThis exhibition is supported by Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo\, Ministry of Culture\, Youth and Sport and Municipality of Prishtina.
