Today everything seems to take up space. Everything is an addition and everything seems to add to a forever increasing clutter. We are finding ourselves in an increasingly dense mental and emotional environment where contemplating, reflecting, processing and simply being alone with our thoughts is becoming a difficult endeavor. We simply have no time to digest all the everyday mess we consume. We are on edge because our mental faculties are not completing the cycle of input, digest, output. Everything is stuck at input because everything is designed to enter us, but there is no digestion and the lack of output makes us on edge unable to hold on to a lingering thought. Therefore, in this exhibition, rather than the works occupying space and the visitor consuming yet another artwork, the artworks simply offer space for thinking, feeling or just being. If our space is restricted, we cannot grow. In line with the majority of fluxus works, the audience creates the artwork together with the artist by participating in the event scores either through imagination or in real life. These works are not an art product in itself but rather live in the space between an idea and product. The artist who wrote the event score is simply planting a seed but the way it grows is determined by each individual who is willing to interact with the works, and the gallery space provides sun and space for that growth to be healthy and uncompromised.
